Story
This song was inspired in 1974 from watching large RV's come into a camp site when I was living in my van and tent house with my wife and two small kids (3 and 6) and working as a bus boy. It was about envy, jealousy and acceptance.
If you could remember
When you were young
Living was so easy in the morning sun
You grow a little older when the day is done
But you still got a Lifetime To Live
Yesterdays a memory
That’s lost in the fog
Of broken dreams you never had a chance to live
Sometimes today is worse then that
When you have to face the facts
You learned to take before you learned to give
Now your bills are overdue
And pain is what you use to pay
The only thing you can decide
Is whether to laugh or whether to cry
When you wake up to your insanity
But there’s a way
To be free
There’s a way
To be free
If you could remember
When you were young
Living was so easy in the morning sun
You grow a little older when the day is done
But you still got a Lifetime To Live

On my way to work this morning
A familiar scene arrived
The speed limit sign said 50
And The traffic is moving 5
It seems like nothing’ I do is right
Getting’ tough just to stay alive
Then I stop myself from thinking
These thoughts don’t do me no good
Got to take things as they are
Not the way they should
Any way I start my day
My time is simple spent
Nobody gets a free ride
Every body pays the rent
I wish I had the power
I would straighten out the world
At the top of the agenda
Every guy would have his girl
And every mother would haver her son
And every father a friend
Then I stop myself from thinking
These thoughts don’t do me no good
Got to take things as they are
Not the way they should
Any way I start my day
My time is simple spent
Nobody gets a free ride
Every body pays the rent
I woke up early this morning
Just to watch the day go by
People do the strangest things
But then again, so do I
If I find myself a wondering
Is his life better than mine
Then I stop myself from thinking
These thoughts don’t do me no good
Got to take things as they are
Not the way they should
Any way I start my day
My time is simple spent
Nobody gets a free ride
Every body pays the rent
This was a great song about a night of bliss that never happened. I wrote the song on my way to the date - and she didn't show up. I found out 20 years later why. I still got a great song out of the experience that lasted a lot longer than the actual experience would have -
You’ve got that shit eatin’ grin
Cause you know what you just did
You know you nearly blew my mind
You knew just where to begin
You’re the mistress of sin
I’m gonna love lovin’ you
Every Single Time
Every Single Time you touch me
My body gets a chill
From the hot anticipation
I’m gonna get a thrill
Every Single Time you kiss me\It’s poetry in rhyme
You’re the sweetheart of my senses
My sexy valentine
You play the game with feeling
You got style, you’ve got class
Just like a gorgeous statue
A perfect piece of ass
There’s 50 ways of loving you
And 50 more we’ll find
I’m gonna love lovin you
Every Single Time
Every Single Time you touch me
My body gets a chill
From the hot anticipation
I’m gonna get a thrill
Every Single Time you kiss me\It’s poetry in rhyme
You’re the sweetheart of my senses
My sexy valentine
Here’s no braggin’ just a fact
I’ve had more than my share
I never had a night like this
There’s no one could compare
You’re every dream I’ve ever dreamed
And some I didn’t dare
I’m gonna love lovin’ you
Every Single Everywhere
Every Single Time you touch me
My body gets a chill
From the hot anticipation
I’m gonna get a thrill
Every Single Time you kiss me\It’s poetry in rhyme
You’re the sweetheart of my senses
My sexy valentine
I wrote this for a couple celebrating their anniversary at a piano bar in Los Angelas. They were just having so much fun - and it was like that every night - they were regulars - had their own bar stools - and were stars in their own right.
He baked her a cake for their anniversary
She shyly admitted “he’s a better cook than me”
He flirts with the girls but he’s really not free
They’re having a good time it’s easy to see
And the years will come
And the years will go
Patti and Willy will always know
They’ve got each other till death do them part
When they say ‘I Love You’
It comes from their heart
Now 43 years is a very long time
But she’s bigger than him and that keeps him in line
The grass is no greener than his valentine
Love is that feeling you’re two of a kind
And the years will come
And the years will go
Patti and Willy will always know
They’ve got each other till death do them part
When they say ‘I Love You’
It comes from their heart
I wrote this for a woman who I thought was just beautiful - not in a flashy way - just exuded loveliness - and she was always unhappy. I never why so I made up a story.
Moonlight and candlelight
Show him the way
He’s coming to see her
After so long away
With eyes ever open
She’s waiting at home
Sarah Doesn’t Cry Anymore
Sarah Doesn’t Cry Anymore
She knew that he’d be there
It’s something she learned
It just a little longer
For him to return
Now she is smiling
Her dreams are fulfilled
Sarah Doesn’t Cry Anymore
Sarah Doesn’t Cry Anymore
Moonlight and laughter were always her crown
She played for the theater, she played for the bow
But inside her soul, was a pain that grew old
Sarah Doesn’t Cry Anymore
Sarah Doesn’t Cry Anymore
Flowers and fragrance, the smells from above
Doldrums and daydreams weave spells out of love
She never did marry, she died all alone
Sarah Doesn’t Cry Anymore
Sarah Doesn’t Cry Anymore
